Katherine Anne Porter - María Concepción



But María Concepción lived alone. She was gaunt, as if something were gnawing her away inside, her eyes were sunken, and she would not speak a word if she could help it. She worked harder than ever, and her butchering knife was scarcely out of her hand.



Pero María Concepción vivía sola. Se la veía demacrada, como si algo carcomiéndola por dentro la alejara, sus ojos estaban hundidos, y no diría una palabra de poder evitarlo. Trabajaba más duro que nunca, y su cuchillo de carnicero casi nunca abandonaba su mano.
